the man quanan all the way from [0:27] Grand B what's [0:28] happening and everything bless with you [0:31] everything is great I am so excited to [0:34] have you on board because when we talk [0:36] about buo these days you cannot talk [0:39] about booo without mentioning po little [0:41] boy DJ Taffy and the likes so it's [0:44] amazing to have you on board I I know [0:47] you've been you've been doing a lot [0:49] you've been toying and busy you know [0:51] yeah booked and busy buy but a lot of [0:56] the people out there want to know who is [0:59] Quan that so we're going to get into the [1:02] nitty gritties of who you are so first [1:05] of all tell me a little bit about your [1:08] well first tell us what your actual name [1:11] is and tell me a little bit about your [1:14] upbringing in Grand Bay and how it [1:16] influence your passion for [1:19] music um well basically my name is Quan [1:23] mhm my real name is s okay I do want to [1:25] put a different name because like I [1:28] don't want to put John [1:31] okay King right and then you have to ask [1:33] me why is your name I don't know why [1:35] you're asking me my name again but when [1:37] he done come from there the Dan um my [1:39] fellas give me the Dan okay yeah because [1:42] of the ladies the fans so the Ladi the L [1:47] well wow the ladies going wild so they [1:50] give me that um thing because of Dan [1:52] because you go out like he's a be what [1:57] look would be somebody that yeah he's [2:00] the top CH I yeah Quan so that's how the [2:04] Quan come about but um I'm originally [2:07] from Grand B mhm since [2:10] Isa [2:12] um well my mother have two of us okay my [2:16] brother and [2:17] I and we rais up from nothing to [2:20] something else see okay so I always [2:22] raise up like seeing ASA Ru K TJ tapy [2:29] like on the truck and I used to say like [2:30] what how one day I have to be up there [2:34] man I always want to I always watch [2:36] truck and I one day I have to make it up [2:38] there and then right now I on All Stage [2:41] DJ I rep as I I signal I rep everybody I [2:46] wanted to play with so would you say [2:47] that you know looking at these guys is [2:50] what Drew you to buo how did you start [2:54] in your journey [2:55] basically basically is he was like my RO [2:58] model okay yeah my world mod I it's like [3:01] something about him he always have a lot [3:05] of accomplishments I would [3:07] [Music] [3:08] sayh is an ambassador yeah yeah I say [3:12] what I want to be an [3:14] ambassador so you asire to be like ASA [3:17] yes not not like ASA I want to be better [3:20] okay so would you say like um I I say [3:23] you see I was watching an interview with [3:24] Bob Mali Bob m one of them yes Bob M and [3:29] he was saying like um you see reach for [3:31] the sky you don't want to reach for the [3:33] sky you want to reach F so I want to [3:35] reach f i don't to that with um I want [3:38] to be likea better than ASA okay and [3:41] besides ASA would you who else are your [3:44] Inspirations when it comes to me oh um [3:46] beside is I would go back to people like [3:48] ly [3:49] Doby or Mali midnight [3:52] ders [3:54] CA ber Hammon IIs open in um regish okay [3:59] old school [4:01] zook [4:03] Yesa yeah and you from Grand I mean [4:07] not but tell me what what is your [4:10] process like when it comes to writing a [4:15] song my process um well sometime you can [4:18] you can take me like something like I [4:21] would say a 10 minutes right or so yeah [4:23] yeah it's like and I sometime I can [4:26] write if I want to mhm or I can write [4:29] the complet song in my head okay so I [4:32] just freestyle I say okay that don't [4:35] make any sense let's change that let's [4:37] change that word that freestyle it again [4:40] my favorite spot in my house would be my [4:41] bathroom Okay so most of your songs are [4:45] your your man [4:46] K I com to take your yes because the [4:51] bathroom is the spot in your house when [4:52] you enter that spot everybody will give [4:54] you your time and your priv nobody will [4:56] come and ah time you to come out yeah [5:00] be like yeah I using doing a number two [5:02] not doing a number two I want my own [5:04] space because [5:06] no I get that sometimes I'll be in my [5:09] bathroom and I there for no reason you [5:11] and sing that me that is me I like to be [5:14] and sing but you you spoke about take [5:17] your woman um back in [5:20] 2019 take your woman was a very popular [5:24] song but it got you know recognition [5:27] from the trinidadians when they came to [5:29] the [5:30] for World CR Music Festival we had DJ [5:32] Private Ryan playing it on his set we [5:35] had um Bon ging and F Lions playing it [5:38] on their set what kind of impact did [5:42] that have on your career seeing that you [5:44] know even back then your music was being [5:47] recognized by artists [5:49] outside well um like I'll be telling the [5:53] other artist I just came into the game [5:57] I've been doing this for a while I me a [5:59] profession [6:00] yeah I'm on the to I don't consider [6:03] myself the best I still working on my [6:07] craft I still working on myself I still [6:10] working on speaking better I still [6:11] working on making better music every day [6:14] I believe I improveing more and more I [6:17] take points from certain people and I [6:19] take advice from certain people not all [6:21] right because I got where I am my go is [6:25] my own path mhm certain people will want [6:27] to tell you what to do but you see back [6:30] then when you take your man you move ice [6:33] in fridge and you put it and it melting [6:35] M that was me melting [6:37] away that was melting I like it's like [6:41] with with emotions like yeah I could [6:44] understand myself like what that's an [6:47] artist that is like I would say maybe 10 [6:49] times bigger than me more popular than [6:51] me right and he chose out of all songs [6:55] My Song your song right so that was like [6:57] a like a feeling I would never forget [6:59] experience that I will never forget I [7:01] was jumping up I was but I wasn't at the [7:04] front stage I the at that time yeah but [7:06] it was a wild moment wow yeah because [7:09] out of all the other songs in Dominica [7:12] during that season you know they chose [7:15] that one song and I mean it was a hit [7:17] song let's be [7:19] honest but you the song that is most [7:23] popular with you right now um in 2024 [7:28] moving into 2025 [7:30] is someone else which is the [7:31] collaboration between you little boy and [7:34] Trilogy that song you all did an entire [7:38] little toy in Trinidad because I mean [7:40] for the first time ever well I I [7:43] wouldn't say for the first time ever but [7:46] usually it you don't find [7:48] trinidadians embracing boyo in that sort [7:52] of way but that song has been dominating [7:56] Trinidad Carnival spaces it's like right [7:59] now everybody talking about booy and [8:02] everybody's into that particular song [8:05] can you tell me a little bit about the [8:07] creation of the song and what how does [8:11] it feel for you to see that people have [8:14] been embracing that song on the kind of [8:17] level that they have been across the [8:19] Caribbean well basically I feel the type [8:21] of joy that not even rum drugs money [8:29] girl friend can give me right that's a [8:31] joy that they cannot match up to [8:34] but in the same time I would like to say [8:36] you have to stay humble MH so I never [8:39] feel like um like okay well one of the [8:42] biggest song you never feel like okay [8:45] I've arrived I'm a big celebrity now no [8:47] I feel normal as possible yeah like [8:50] people call me and me boy boy a big [8:52] artist and I be like right I'm a normal [8:55] guy just like you cuz I I I believe [8:57] everybody's equal mhm everybody's the [8:59] same I'm not better than you right this [9:02] boy is not better than you right we're [9:04] just um people doing music everybody can [9:07] do music yeah and that's a very good [9:09] attit everybody music so it's like I [9:13] feel happy that all song like at at 5 [9:16] million right now mhm and it's safe to [9:20] see it's safe to see that I've been [9:22] looking at other songs like Bas party [9:24] they that that was one of the biggest [9:26] songs that was one of the biggest bu [9:28] songs coming out of like um 3 million [9:30] and something I'm not I'm not correct [9:33] maybe not accurate but 3 million and [9:35] something I would say or 2 million [9:38] something but we at 5 million heading to [9:41] 6 million but but tell me though because [9:46] you know this song is major but like [9:49] when you start listening to this [9:52] song where the Big B thing come know [9:56] because you Notting to hear that big [9:59] belly season in that [10:02] truck tell me a little bit about that [10:04] verse and how that came about break it [10:06] down not too in depth because little boy [10:09] will give you in depth vision of how [10:13] long he had the track and and no I just [10:15] want to know about the big belly pack [10:17] big belly pack was basically I had [10:19] originally a first first for the track [10:23] mhm and then you know when we in the [10:26] studio we like to drink a little r [10:29] so I went this kitchen I took like shot [10:32] of B with and I I he and I check in my [10:35] phone and I scroll and I see Taffy with [10:38] d and Taffy B big mhm then I [10:42] watching Freddy start I see he like [10:43] something this is the season yeah so [10:46] it's like what big belly [10:49] season like big belly B and the kitchen [10:53] and boy was playing the redeem he and my [10:56] first was was playing the redem and I my [10:58] barely Pig cuz it was originally [11:02] ayle no it was a freestyle it was like a [11:05] freestyle I like to Freestyle so I the [11:06] kitchen my belly pig like a cushion cuz [11:09] I was just sitting on the cushion you [11:11] don't have a cushion no it's like it's [11:13] just a rhyme because I was just on [11:15] cushion little boys my belly big like a [11:17] cushion I never hungry but I made the [11:20] whole freestyle and then the little boy [11:21] was like come come come come come come [11:23] sing that on the mic and you know so [11:26] many people just love that verse on that [11:28] Stu it's um it's a form of [11:33] confidence Rel people always feel like [11:36] you going to Beach and you move your [11:37] cruth and people looking like okay well [11:39] that person F mhm boy that person [11:42] getting be yeah yeah yeah but at the [11:45] same time everybody equal like what I [11:47] was saying from back then exactly [11:49] everybody equal they comfortable in your [11:50] own skin that is you that's how well God [11:53] created you everybody equal but you [11:56] choose to eat you get big but you still [11:58] love yourself that's true exactly so big [12:00] belly season is where when you hear that [12:03] you can just rub your belly might be [12:05] somebody pregnant it kind of like you [12:08] know on the same on the same level as [12:11] when Mr Killer came out with Roy police [12:14] because you know people on the biggest [12:16] side don't necessarily always get the [12:19] love and appreciation yes that is it [12:22] that is it that is it right now you have [12:23] your own song yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah [12:26] that ver is just for you just for you [12:28] just for you [12:29] just for you okay so we're going to [12:31] switch it up a little bit I'm going to [12:33] ask you some questions and you're going [12:36] to give me the first answer that comes [12:39] to your mind okay that is it um one [12:41] artist you would love to collaborate [12:43] with one [12:45] artist I don't have any you collabor is [12:49] so many um as of right [12:53] now maybe I want to make a track I [12:56] triple K okay triple K triple k and what [12:59] is one me memorable performance that [13:02] stands out in your career oh my God [13:03] France okay Cara one love nice tell me a [13:07] little bit about that um well I work at [13:11] staring and Sons mhm and then I had to [13:13] leave because I got a geek in France for [13:16] car one love I went to that gig but they [13:18] make me true so I have to leave the job [13:20] opportunity yeah and I never got close [13:23] to the end of the crowd yeah a massive [13:26] the was cheing like there 20,000 people [13:30] plus mhm I was like wo and that was an [13:34] experience I'll never forget because I [13:35] ran on the stage with the mic mhm and as [13:38] soon as I saw the crowd I ran back why [13:41] you were scared it's like you know when [13:43] you reach and like your your V tall I [13:47] stall I stall but I came back I just did [13:50] a little dance that's TR me once I get [13:52] the new redem yeah nothing can stop me [13:55] okay and if you could listen to one song [13:57] for the rest of your life was to [14:01] they I would [14:04] say man the rest of my life mhm [14:10] wo you don't have a favorite [14:13] song I love so many s it's like I don't [14:16] um C categorize [14:19] songs I love all songs okay because I [14:22] listen to Dan I listen to so I listen to [14:24] Reg I listen to all type of gen I don't [14:26] just listen to booo Because I'm a boyo [14:28] artist I hip hop I listen to everything [14:30] so it's like I wouldn't have like a [14:32] favorite song I okay's what's your [14:35] favorite Dominican dish to eat dish ah [14:38] one [14:39] po hands hands one pot describe boyo [14:43] music in one word Bo your music [14:48] togetherness okay and what's the weest [14:50] fun interaction that you've [14:55] had see tell me tell me tell me the the [14:59] the way you move your there is like that [15:01] story interesting a fan one time said [15:05] that she was my girlfriend and I was in [15:07] a conflict with my real girlfriend no [15:10] that's not a fan that's a stalker man [15:13] that's a fan but went overboard but that [15:17] you go from F to [15:19] ster you girlfriend that was a problem [15:23] that was a problem and if you weren't an [15:25] artist what would you be doing [15:30] I guess dancing I used to dance Isa [15:32] before I used to sing oh so you're a [15:34] dancer Bo I was a dancer I was a dancer [15:36] okay so I get dancing electrical I saw [15:38] electrical too I still by staring son [15:41] doing sales I love sales I love [15:43] interacting with people and talking to [15:45] people okay I can tell you are a good [15:47] communicator just in the way that we [15:50] interacting like people laugh I can see [15:53] that cuz you like to Green like me [15:55] definitely definitely um who is your [15:59] dream International artist to perform I [16:02] don't even have any I don't have any [16:04] really it's like I live my life like if [16:08] it happened it happened if it happened [16:10] it happened because basically sometime [16:12] you plan things in life and it never [16:15] reach to happen right so it's like okay [16:18] I get to meet Canberry for my first time [16:20] right wow what a wonderful life right [16:24] happen it happen but like to say [16:25] planning I believe plan things don't [16:27] always work out okay the unexpected is [16:29] always the best so if it happen I end up [16:32] performing with um young brother it's a [16:36] blessing yeah yeah yeah but to say like [16:37] I have a favorite artist so I just want [16:42] to work with everybody got you stage [16:44] just Studio which one feels more like [16:46] home to you Studio the studio you tell [16:49] me why um because that is where [16:52] create the heat that's how we create the [16:55] songs that's why I sit down and I say [16:57] okay know I don't think that the fans [16:59] going to like that let's change that [17:01] let's do this so that would say that is [17:03] how we make our one pot okay all our [17:05] ingredients so that's that home for me [17:08] okay and if you were to create a hit [17:10] song in 24 hours who would you call [17:12] first little boy little boy how little [17:15] boy DJ Taffy that's my that's that's my [17:18] that's just my boys little boy DJ Taffy [17:21] okay and if you had to choose one track [17:24] that you would always play to Hype up [17:26] yourself what track would it be [17:30] one [17:35] track that song R through in my head [17:39] KET is that kfet is really like a life [17:43] story of mine okay so like KET really [17:46] expresses how I was feeling at that [17:48] present moment and that's a moment in [17:50] time I will never forget like you know [17:52] before when you coming up and you talk [17:54] to a girl and she check like okay who s [17:57] m to talk to [17:59] yeah but right now because isw [18:02] like hello how you [18:06] doing yeah man after you run all your [18:09] life so that's right that's my song that [18:12] I play that song when I be and I like [18:15] w Really you that make that [18:17] song listen that song is ring my head I [18:20] notat and R person but I love it it's [18:23] just it's just different things in the [18:26] song you know like everything in the [18:28] song no no no I love I love this song [18:31] for everybody yeah that song rent free [18:33] in my head I'm telling you whenever I [18:36] get into my vehicle and I go to YouTube [18:38] that is the first song that will pop up [18:40] because right now I think someone else [18:43] is big on a big scale very big but when [18:45] you see I travel to sing like I was in [18:49] um ana [18:51] seta and these two [18:54] places I had to replay kfe more than [18:58] someone else yeah because just have a [19:01] kind of of a a rough kind of and I used [19:05] I started I us started I started [19:07] different like after you run all your [19:09] life you play and the crowd of [19:13] people a different vibe about it and [19:17] that that KET is basically just you [19:20] whereas someone else is the cab with you [19:23] know Trill and little boy also singing [19:25] on it but K has its own VI have it own [19:29] space and I telling you that only even R [19:32] in my head no payent no no no not at all [19:36] but if you were to say that you have you [19:39] you ever had an embarrassing moment [19:42] during a performance what would it be [19:44] did you ever have an embarrassing [19:46] moment well besides the fact that you [19:49] car and you run on the stage and you run [19:51] back because you frightened by the crowd [19:53] anything else interesting happened um [19:57] embarrassing moment I would say uh there [19:59] was a time I went to [20:02] perform I try to remember which place I [20:05] was which [20:06] cor and you know when you go in the [20:09] different country they pay like the [20:11] hotel exclusive so you can eat all you [20:13] can eat drinks so I end up trying [20:16] different drinks and different foods [20:18] with t because I'm a person I stick to [20:21] what I know yeah cuz I don't when I show [20:23] my stomach bubble [20:25] I and I end up trying to food and then a [20:30] whole performance like my stomach was [20:31] probably oh my gosh so like you couldn't [20:33] wait to get a yes that was an [20:35] embarrassing moment for me like I can [20:37] imagine yeah like you have to perform [20:39] and jump up but you jump as an extra [20:41] jump because you wanted because like I [20:44] don't know accident to happen there that [20:47] one was difficult for me SOA or so we [20:52] moving away from the SOA or what would [20:55] you Vibe most to on your days off when [20:59] you're not creating [21:01] boyo I would say both I I would I would [21:03] even pick and choose both SOA and boyo [21:07] they always have some in depth lyrics [21:10] some very I can say it interesting play [21:14] on words and it's always some lyrics [21:18] that have to do with life or everyday [21:21] life or everyday movement yeah [21:23] definitely both of them and you know you [21:25] know most of the up and coming artists [21:28] these days [21:29] if you had to pick one person you would [21:31] say that we should keep our eye on that [21:34] one artist who would you say we should [21:36] keep our eyes open for to be the next [21:39] person bringing the [21:41] global someone I think that glal we [21:45] should keep our eyes [21:47] on I wouldn't say Freddy and Freddy and [21:50] already yeah yeah I would say tricks [21:54] okay Trix is a very very very [21:57] interesting artist [21:59] is wow like yeah man tricks okay and if [22:03] you had one superow you were superhero [22:06] and you could use that super power to [22:09] push your music career forward what [22:11] would that super power [22:15] be a super bow yeah a super what G the [22:21] superhero I would be I want to be [22:23] invisible invisible I want to be [22:25] invisible I telling you why time like [22:30] for me I want to be invisible so I like [22:33] to be in my own space right so I like to [22:35] be invisible so like I would I have to [22:37] be invisible so I can focus and make the [22:41] music for you but sometime like I I [22:43] don't get in the time because sometime [22:44] people have to do this have to do this [22:47] you have to be here you have to be there [22:49] if I invisible like all see I I would [22:51] work a lot and all music dropping left [22:53] right and Center yeah but look for [22:55] summer summer we're definitely going to [22:57] bring like a new album for the carnival [23:00] but fell for [23:02] you we had to make that album with a [23:04] different like a song for every body [23:07] right f for you was a song for my mother [23:09] okay like people more ageable people on [23:12] the Block was a song for Batman mhm [23:19] um songs so so on that note now we're [23:23] going to move into another segment of [23:25] the show which I like to call song off [23:27] where I'm going to play you a few songs [23:31] and you're going to tell me some of the [23:33] songs will be yours some are not yours [23:37] you're going to tell me what is the [23:39] first thing that comes to your mind when [23:42] you hear that particular song so you [23:45] ready [23:46] [Music] [23:51] [Applause] [23:55] [Music] [24:00] that's the real old [24:06] school first thing that comes to B City [24:09] okay bbba City City real life [25:55] story she don't live though she oh she [25:58] didn't leave that song There the song [26:00] bring her back that [26:04] song okay next [26:10] song you mentioned it a little bit [26:14] [Music] [26:25] but okay you see this thing that comes [26:29] to wild wild wild like people just go in [26:32] Wild mhm that song is definition of wild [26:36] okay okay okay okay and you're a grand B [26:39] so [26:43] [Music] [26:45] definitely as a grand man something must [26:48] come to mind when you hear that [26:52] [Music] [27:01] You Close Your Eyes before that [27:03] on that is real tell me first thing that [27:07] comes to mind that is a real music real [27:12] cultural in depth back in the days Yep [27:16] music from the [27:19] King okay and the song that R free my [27:23] brain you know [27:30] [Music] [27:36] easy [27:39] W that song is for your owners for your [27:42] owners your rers [27:46] only [27:47] that song [28:06] already song oh oh now you [28:11] [28:40] Dom next [28:44] song Go hurt you [29:01] [Music] [29:06] my mother first thing that comes to mind [29:08] is your mommy my mommy that song I [29:10] always wanted to make a song that my [29:12] mother would love and that's that that [29:14] is it okay old school love old school [29:16] and our final track for you to tell me [29:19] first thing that comes to mind [29:28] [Music] [29:34] El so easy down there once I he that is [29:37] my belly big I know right big belly [29:40] season big belly any time any [29:44] hour all right so guys that was sound [29:47] off with Quan telling us his thoughts on [29:49] when he hears certain um music coming [29:52] straight out of Dominica but now we're [29:54] going to move to a section of the show [29:56] where Quan tells us how his Dominican [29:59] heritage has caused him to be the sort [30:03] of artist that he is and we know that [30:06] Grand Bay is such a cultural Village so [30:08] I want to know how how the culture [30:11] influence some of what Quan does so tell [30:14] me qu how does dominica's culture [30:17] Inspire your music and what you [30:19] do well we always people that Lively mhm [30:25] jumping connecting with people no matter [30:27] where you come from mhm you can come [30:29] from arba Arizona and new come Dominica [30:33] is one team one dream one people one [30:36] love and I would say [30:39] granny [30:41] like always when the road people singing [30:45] drum beating you tell me you used to [30:48] be I have I have videos I beating drum [30:52] Pap that's my thing so I always try to [30:55] put that type of energy in my song [30:58] I kind of love this when people listen [31:00] to my song you feel hyp you feel like if [31:03] your day is down you feel wow like okay [31:07] yes I want to listen to a qu I want to [31:09] listen to a qu little boy it's like an [31:11] on high demand like drums okay basically [31:14] I'm selling musical drums right yes I [31:16] like that and if if any what is one [31:20] Dominican tradition or Dominican [31:23] saying that you would say inspired one [31:26] of your songs or project [31:28] or if you have any projects in the [31:31] future that you would say know that [31:33] saying I going make a song based on that [31:35] that is it anytime any day that is it [31:40] smooth and easy that is it sure can you [31:44] tell me how do you feel um what is the [31:48] role of buo Music in You Know pushing [31:52] the identity of Dominica out there to [31:56] the the listeners out of Dom shows but [32:00] basically it's a new [32:03] genre I would say but have been there a [32:06] long time yeah but people just starting [32:10] to you know com into it yeah they're [32:13] more apprecia of it right now so right [32:16] now like when you listen to Bo your [32:17] music say like okay where is it from and [32:20] then you go to and then you learn there [32:23] a little island in Dominica and then you [32:25] come back to people like WC people like [32:28] ra people like triple gay coming [32:31] together and wear their own style of BU [32:33] right so I would say like it making [32:36] people discover Dominica too mhm cuz [32:39] more they try to learn more about the [32:41] music as more they would learn more [32:42] about Dominica and our culture and learn [32:45] about our Carnival and different things [32:47] that we have to offer and what do what [32:50] do you see as your role you know in [32:53] pushing that new Evolution of the boyya [32:57] genre and where do you see boyo going in [32:59] the future basically I just want to [33:02] bring people together so I want to have [33:06] like [33:06] carnivals where I will just be singing [33:09] and we'll have no violence nobody [33:11] fighting with one another everybody [33:13] together you can be French you can be [33:16] Europe you can be white you can be black [33:18] you hold somebody and you just Embrace [33:20] that person as your brother your sister [33:22] Your Love whatever you want to embrace [33:24] them as and we just enjoy our come [33:28] together and just fill the music F The [33:30] Vibes and I see Bo your music going as [33:34] big as Dan s and app and everything we [33:37] just have to put in that work and we [33:40] don't have to fight one another work [33:42] together push the music push the genre [33:46] and make it as big as it can be right [33:48] and if you if you were to write a song [33:51] inspired by any one place in Dominic [33:53] where would it be and [33:55] why why I know you from there but why [34:00] grand grand bold they aggressive they do [34:02] tell you what they have to tell you and [34:04] that is how I [34:05] am and tell me how does it what is the [34:10] difference for you between performing in [34:14] front of a local audience in Dominica [34:17] and Performing outside of Dominica to an [34:20] audience that probably might not they [34:23] know your song but they don't actually [34:25] know qu that because even in Dominica we [34:30] I tend to see that a lot where in [34:31] Dominica there'll be a popular song and [34:33] we'll be singing it all the time and [34:35] then C festival season comes around and [34:39] they will announce the artist that [34:40] singing that song and everybody will [34:42] like but who who the hell is that person [34:44] until they figure oh that's who singing [34:47] that song okay I would say in Dominica [34:51] we have thing we [34:53] do like okay because I know I see [34:58] Roo I pass the name like [35:01] okay I okay I know man yeah so when I [35:04] come and perform it's like you have fans [35:07] that will genuinely enjoy and embrace [35:10] you and everything but have some fans [35:11] that watch you like by don't me [35:15] drinking I to feel but when you go [35:18] outside there is a different a whole [35:19] different yeah man I already walk into [35:21] and play splitting the crow and jumping [35:24] up on [35:25] qu rich excited because they don't know [35:29] you they don't get to see you every day [35:31] or the thing with Dominicans I guess [35:33] because they see you every day like okay [35:35] from they like props yeah they see me by [35:39] Fresh Market shopping they like look [35:41] shopping M like I foot other like okay [35:44] Trinidad you see them artist maybe like [35:46] they pass around you know but they [35:49] always busy always moving Sobe they see [35:50] them once in but they still show them [35:52] that type of Love yeah so I wish like [35:54] they would just show us that type of [35:55] Love Too show that love I I get that I [35:58] get I love my fans the same way too yeah [36:01] um do you have any upcoming projects or [36:04] collaborations that you're extremely [36:06] excited about can you give us a look a [36:07] look like sneak [36:09] peek um there's a [36:12] project I excited about but I can't give [36:15] any details on it it's just that it's [36:18] going to be big okay very big even to [36:22] bigger that's why I cannot even see [36:26] bigger than someone else outside of [36:28] domica okay well I I I I'm looking [36:31] forward to that I'm looking forward to [36:34] that but um besides the boyya but we've [36:37] been doing so many things with the boyya [36:39] where we experiment with you know adding [36:42] different genres to the the boyo beats [36:45] but do you see yourself venturing or [36:48] dabbling in any different genres or [36:52] different styles in your future songs [36:55] definitely okay I started of singing [36:58] dance okay I don't even know that I I [37:00] was never a Bo artist I was a Dance [37:02] artist yeah so now afro like what I [37:08] can I [37:10] can yeah man definitely definitely okay [37:13] and how do you envision your music [37:15] evolving in the next few [37:18] years what you want to see quand in the [37:21] next few I went to see myself right in [37:23] China Japan on a big huge stage bigger [37:26] than FR never [37:28] yeah and because I have a friend that [37:31] was basically a minister M he's my [37:34] friend he's my brother and that's Mr [37:37] honorable Prince Anderson okay he was in [37:40] um Japan some [37:42] conference and he was playing like [37:45] certain songs and he was speaking on [37:47] them and when he came out on the stage [37:50] he recall like afro dance different but [37:54] he say he was a little picky to say Bo [37:57] because you know Japan and so far from [38:00] Dom they even know what is going on so [38:03] he said like okay no just going to leave [38:05] it and when he came out on the stage the [38:08] people was telling him like why you not [38:10] saying [38:11] Bo like why you not saying Bo like we [38:14] know so he was like what what sounds [38:16] like they they was like they know [38:18] someone else okay all the way they know [38:21] someone else and they know the song I [38:22] was like ja that's so cool so I see my [38:26] music going as fast as [38:28] antactica in the cool I want all the to [38:31] know about [38:32] me yeah that's how I want to um but if [38:35] you had to give any piece of advice to [38:38] somebody who aspires to be an artist in [38:42] Dominica what sort of advice would you [38:44] give to [38:45] them I want to give you the advice that [38:48] it's a lot of work it's not because we [38:51] see qu on the stage yeah on this stage [38:54] that stage it was a lot of work it was a [38:57] lot of sest nights MH it was a lot of [39:01] boy you think I should continue or you [39:05] think I should quit because you're going [39:07] to get a lot of backlash you're going to [39:09] get a lot of words are going to [39:12] discourage you and make you don't want [39:14] to continue to continue going to have to [39:17] do shows where you're not going to get [39:19] paid just to bring out yourself and [39:22] showcase yourself because when I brought [39:24] out that song Take Your Man canas that [39:27] was a sure I was just doing okay just [39:30] like a a promotional thing look at the [39:32] song yeah yeah yeah yeah so you see in [39:34] like you have to really push [39:36] yourself and never give up never give up [39:40] in what you want to do can be you want [39:41] to be a electrician you agree on with [39:44] the Prime Minister never give up believe [39:46] in yourself and you make it okay and you [39:49] talk about you know wanting to give up [39:52] and stuff like that but when it comes to [39:54] you know your creativity and creating [39:56] song [39:58] how have you been able to maneuver [40:00] through the challenges and probably how [40:02] have you been able to overcome when you [40:04] have like a creative block when it comes [40:06] to writing a [40:08] song um I will basically I'm a bike [40:11] rider mhm take my bike just going ride [40:14] just go me sit down I'm a [40:17] drink and just look around sometime [40:20] while you looking around you guys just [40:21] get different ideas boom I see something [40:23] happening hey yeah that can make a song [40:26] like boom hey what that's a situation I [40:31] can put in a first so it's like it's all [40:34] around you music is all around us it's [40:37] in the environment it's in your dream [40:39] it's in your sleep it's everywhere so [40:42] everywhere you can get that um that [40:46] idea we just in your imagination use [40:49] your imagination some I don't go like on [40:52] my bed and [40:53] just and it just come into in my own [40:56] world it just come to me or just listen [41:00] to some old school songs because they [41:02] always have some wordss of wisdom inside [41:05] of [41:06] there okay so I going to I going to [41:11] play uh read from little boy that he [41:15] released maybe about two two months ago [41:18] and I want you to give me a quick off [41:20] the top of your head just give me a [41:22] quick like 30 second freestyle on that [41:25] reading you think you do that [41:27] [Music] [41:29] let's [41:50] go leave your problem at your [41:53] home leave your home at your home [41:57] car we com in we com in we com we com in [42:03] for the road leave your problem at your [42:05] home and leave your home at your [42:09] home I tell you we come [42:12] in carnival yes we come in that is it [42:16] smooth and easy smooth and easy this [42:19] carival is like you don't have to have [42:21] no problem on your road the best way to [42:23] enjoy your Carnival and I see leave [42:27] woman at your home because sometime you [42:30] bring your woman and then don't bring [42:31] son to the beach yeah I I I don't it's [42:33] like woman will reach and they will just [42:36] make a problem out of nothing all right [42:40] it's I just tell my woman that straight [42:42] up [42:44] it's I get it I understand it's in the [42:47] nature of them okay but we coming to the [42:50] end of the showan if you had any last [42:53] words to leave with your fans what would [42:55] it be [42:58] I would say believe in [43:00] yourself and [43:02] pray pray nothing thing happens with [43:05] that God nothing people just say okay [43:09] boy do this do that push yourself but [43:13] you forget God yeah you see God but I [43:16] believe you need God yeah you need God [43:19] because they're going to have days where [43:20] you down they're going to have days that [43:21] you want to give up like I tell you and [43:23] them days just come back to back to back [43:26] it can be a everyday thing where you [43:29] just feel like you [43:30] T and you just have to pray pray about [43:33] it talk to God about it yeah and he will [43:36] make a way CU he loves all his children [43:38] he will make a way for you I totally [43:40] agree with you guys and you you heard it [43:42] from Quan put God first in everything [43:45] you do once you have God at the center [43:48] of everything you're doing you are [43:50] guaranteed to succeed but
